July 2022 Art Update

Welcome to my studio!

Well I don’t know if anyone’s surprised, but I finally made the leap to transition out of my job to become a full time artist!

My brand new, first ever, real life studio!

I am so excited to offer custom paintings (big and small) for your family, businesses, and churches.

Quick Recap of the month!

I had an amazing time volunteering for the Meaning Through Music’s Interactive Music and Vendor Experience for kids and their families! Be sure to check out Natalie’s work for unique ways to connect with your kids through music!

This past weekend I did an impromptu booth at Church of the Ascension’s farmers market! I only had a few prints to sell, but the amount of positive feedback I got was truly overwhelming! I’ll make sure to announce the next time I set up camp to sell prints in person since my online store is still in progress.

My rag-tag booth! The wind was not a friend to my set up, but luckily we had a few bags we could use to prop up my stands.

Another amazing KC-based Catholic artist! Mike Debus has been around the block for a while so if you don’t know him, you better!

Kelly came to the farmer’s market specifically for this print of Our Lady Undoer of Knots! What a joy it was to get to know her and her story.

Speaking of Our Lady Undoer of Knots, this little customer’s mother recently told me that “she stares at it during our ‘morning chats with Jesus’.” There’s nothing that brings my heart more joy than this!

If you or someone you know has a forgotten wall that needs new life, a story or image that must be painted, or a big proposal/announcement that needs a thoughtful gift, sign up for a free 15 minute consultation call with me.

My work is always aware of your aesthetic likes and dislikes, the environment the piece is going in, and (most importantly) the unique story you’re bringing to the table.

I will ask you to explain the project you have in mind and from that conversation, sketch up a rough thumbnail image of whatever comes to mind. If you feel I’ve nailed it, we can move forward with the quote and deadline.

In September and beyond I still have a few spots left to do:

  • Commissions (devotional/religious art, gifts, portraits)

  • Murals (for businesses, youth groups, nurseries and bedrooms)

  • Churches

  • Live Painting (for weddings, benefits, non-profit fundraisers and auctions, conferences)

  • Wedding/Baby Announcements and Thank You Cards

  • Family portraits

  • Books

Thank You!

July was the month of taking a big leap of faith! These are some of my best friends and supporters of my art. When I reflect on all of you who have signed up for this newsletter (all 131 of you!!), I’m just so grateful for all of the support and encouragement. If even one of my pieces brings you delight, I’m happy.

All year, I have said this is the year of miracles! Let’s see what others will come!

Happy August!

-Mattie
