June 2022 Art Update

Baby Munsch announcement

2 years ago, I helped Landon ask Jenna to be his bride. This month, I helped Jenna tell Landon he’s a father!

Sinkers Lounge murals

My company Swell Spark let me throw paint on the walls of our new mini golf bar in downtown KC: Sinkers Lounge! I sketched up designs on my iPad, free-handed them onto the walls with chalk, and painted over the lines with paint.

The Magician’s Nephew

This is the first assignment with my art mentorship! It was all about establishing a daily “drip” art habit, even if only a few minutes a day. I’m trying my hand at illustrating one of the (arguably) best Narnia books. I plan on diving more into these sketches and making them full illustrations.

Update on the Holy Name of Jesus Church triptychs!

This month I really worked on finalizing the Joseph side by making Jesus the light source.

Thank You!

June was a BUSY month, let me tell ya! I did way more art than I thought possible! A big part of this was because of my first assignment in my mentorship - learning how to do a daily “drip” towards a larger project. The little bit of work consistently practiced has totally rewired my brain into seeing what’s possible. I’m so proud of what I was able to create in a month so I am opening up commissions again! Please reach out if you want a devotional painting, wedding/pregnancy announcement, nursery mural, etc. I am open for business:)

In June I also binged Lost and Stranger Things 4, chopped off my hair, rock climbed, and had great conversations. July is sure to hold even more adventure. I hope you all are enjoying the summer! I sure am!

Happy July!

-Mattie
