The Secret Behind My Artwork
Happy Friday everyone!
I just wrapped up my time at the Catholic Women’s Conference here in Kansas City!
WOW.
Because of the size of the conference, I was able to go to the talks, help on prayer teams, AND sell a ton of prints! I’m so ready to get back to creating more artwork to crush the head of Satan! 💪
Here are some sketches from this past week to help me loosen up! (and one of these may/will become a larger painting! 👀👀👀 Keep an eye out!)
And now, I want to take you behind the scenes on the most important “ingredient” in my artwork…
The Holy Spirit
That may seem obvious! But I want to give you a deeper understanding of how I like to start every commission and original piece.
Weeks ago, I launched a “prophetic commission” giveaway on Instagram and a local young woman, Emma S, was the lucky winner! We got on a Zoom call and I led her through prayer prompts inviting the Holy Spirit and asking for an image He wanted to give her. This is the secret key - asking the Holy Spirit directly for imagery.
Emma immediately saw an image of her and Jesus sitting at a tree looking out at a beautiful field during the daytime. I was praying along with her and heard the word “fireflies”. I offered her the word and Emma started tearing up! Apparently the most beautiful thing to her is watching fireflies appear at dusk. We quickly pivoted to set the scene at dusk and I created her painting based off this image. To her, the painting is a message from Jesus that He loves to rest with her, and He knows the beautiful things that catch her heart.
This is why prayer is the most important part of my artwork.
An image of a tree is beautiful. But if an image of a tree comes straight from the Holy Spirit, there is a direct link to God and the message He wants to communicate.
If you are a baptized Christian, you have the ability to hear from God! We just often don’t give Him the opportunity to speak.

And take a moment to clear your mind and ask the Holy Spirit “Holy Spirit, what do you think of me right now?” Feel free to comment what you receive in prayer!
