Sam wanted a painting to reflect his wife Ali’s prayer where she envisions God as a protective yet gentle lion. This idea totally captured my heart as a huge Narnia fan.
The woman in the painting sits in a serene meadow resting against the side of the mighty lion. In the grass you can see her weapons set aside for her to rest.
My hope is that this piece of art reminds everyone who views it that in the presence of God, we can put down our weapons. We don’t need to armor up in His presence and can truly just be ourselves - like little children.
